was recognized for stepping up as
the 2014 Walk for Wishes event chair. Known for her “never give up” attitude,
her dedication and organization made the event successful and fellow volunteers
consider her to be a joy to work with.
Even though she hadn’t been a part of the previous walks and was a new
volunteer, she made the event a huge success.
The 2013 Walk for Wishes® Event in
Dubuque was also recognized as the walk event which raised the most money for
Iowa wishes. Thanks
to a strong volunteer base and great corporate partners, Dubuque has been the
top walk for several years.
“Our Dubuque committee has a history of working hard
to make a difference in the lives of our wish kids,” said Chris Voggesser, CEO
for Make-A-Wish Iowa. “The entire Dubuque area shows support for Iowa wishes
through participating in these events.”
Iowa granted 153 wishes in their last fiscal year and anticipate granting 185
in our current year – that’s about a wish every other day.
Award winners will be recognized at Make-A-Wish
Iowa’s Dubuque area gala, themed “A
Great Gatsby Gala” at the Grand River Center on March 21st. Tickets are still available and can be
purchased at iowa.wish.org or by calling (515) 334-2636.
