Make-A-Wish® Iowa and Trusted Choice Grant 5-Year-Old
Avril’s wish to have a playset
JEFFERSON, IOWA (June 5, 2019) – Trusted Choice® Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa has teamed up with Make-A-Wish® Iowa to help grant Avril Shahan’s one true wish. The five-year-old from Jefferson wished to have a playset. Trusted Choice, Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa and Make-A-Wish® Iowa have worked together to grant a wish each year to help change the lives of Iowa children with critical illnesses for the past seven years.
The sponsorship of Avril’s wish is part of a larger commitment, $10,000 in total, from Trusted Choice that will help state Associations throughout the country grant more wishes.
Volunteers and Make-A-Wish professionals have worked hard to ensure that Avril has a memorable and pivotal wish experience from start to finish.
A local agent from Unger Insurance representing the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa/Trusted Choice, was able to attend Avril’s “wish day” at her home on June 4 where her wish granters were able to reveal her brand-new playset.
Robert Rusbuldt, Trusted Choice president and Big “I” president & CEO states “Independent agents are there to instill confidence and hope in their clients and customers, and that’s what Make-A-Wish does for so many children. We are proud to help them grant wishes and look forward to helping to enrich these children’s experience with hope, strength and joy.”
"Our mission at Make-A-Wish Iowa is to create life-changing wishes for children in Iowa with critical illnesses, said Chris Wood, Chief Development Officer of Make-A-Wish Iowa." "The impact of a wish experience can provide hope, strength, and joy - not only for the wish child but also their entire family. We are honored to continue our partnership with Trusted Choice to grant more wishes throughout the state of Iowa."
