(August 7, 2019) – Make-A-Wish® Iowa is announcing Jennifer Woodley, PhD as their new President and CEO.
Jennifer comes to Make-A-Wish most recently as the State Director for Best Buddies International in Iowa. Prior to that role, she taught Special Education at Drake University, where she also worked in University Advancement and earned her doctoral degree. “On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are excited to have Jennifer Woodley onboard,” said Josh Norton, Make-A-Wish Iowa Board Chair. “As a wish mom and proven fundraiser, we look forward to how she will advance the mission and enable the chapter to continue to grant wishes to children facing critical illnesses.”
Jennifer began her role on August 5, 2019.
About Make-A-Wish Iowa: Make-A-Wish® Iowa creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish is the world's leading children's wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the United States and in 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and 33,000 volunteers across the U.S., grant a wish every 34 minutes, on average, somewhere in the country. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 285,000 wishes to children in the U.S. and its territories; more than 15,600 in 2018 alone.
