The Special Events Intern supports Make-A-Wish Iowa’s major special events, both internal and external. The primary responsibilities include assisting with marketing of events, facilitating the donation of auction items, taking part in day of event coordination and assisting in updating internal database. The Special Events Intern will also provide support to the Development team and interact with donors and vendors relating to the events.
Qualifying Skills: Complete ease and comfort in speaking with donors, businesses, volunteers and wish families, excellent written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks. Proficiency in Excel. 12-20 hours/wk required. Ability to actively serve on the Des Moines Gala committee and attend monthly meetings. Applicant must be available to assist day of at the Des Moines Gala – Saturday, May 2, 2020. While not required, it’s encouraged to also assist on-site at the following events:
- Davenport Gala – Feb. 1, 2020
- Dubuque Gala – March 7, 2020
- Cedar Rapids Gala – April 27, 2020
- Clinton Gala – April 4, 2020
