The Dubuque Racing Association, which started in 1985, provides for social, economic and community development and lessens the burden of Dubuque City Government, while contributing to the growth and viability of the Dubuque area. The Association has been a long-time supporter of Make-A-Wish and has contributed to many wishes over the years to wish children in the Dubuque area with a critical illness.
This year’s grant award benefited two area wish children, one who wished to go to Sea World® and the other who wished to go to Walt Disney World® Resort.
Cormac, 8 leukemia
I wish to go to Sea World®
Cormac and his family traveled to California in July to visit Sea World®. This trip was one the family will always remember!
Wyatt, 18 gastrointestinal disorder
I wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort
Wyatt went to Walt Disney World® Resort with his family in June and had an unforgettable experience seeing all the Disney characters.

About Make-A-Wish Iowa: Make-A-Wish® Iowa creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish is the world's leading children's wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the United States and in 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and 33,000 volunteers across the U.S., grant a wish every 34 minutes, on average, somewhere in the country. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 285,000 wishes to children in the U.S. and its territories; more than 15,300 in 2016 alone.
