Volunteer & Program Services Internship

Program Services Internship - Spring, Summer, Fall

The Program Services intern focuses on all the stages of the wish granting process – volunteer wish assignment, wish services to our wish children & their families, and volunteer management. This internship is typically offered each semester (spring, summer and fall).

Basic tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and processing new wish referrals
  • Entering and/or updating wish child, wish family and volunteer information in Raiser’s Edge
  • Composing and distributing mailings to wish children and wish families
    • For example: flight letters, introductory wish packages, countdown wish calendars, wish itineraries
    • Submitting wish child information to other chapters to begin wish coordination
    • Connecting with volunteers to meet Make-A-Wish America’s yearly-requirements
    • Brainstorming and implementing volunteer recognition program
    • Coordinating volunteer-related projects (volunteer awards, thank you notes, social media posts)
    • Other duties as assigned by the Programs Team

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Point, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
